Community Engagement in Research

Facilitating cancer research with the community

The Community Engagement in Research (CEnR) initiative promotes collaboration, innovation and excellence in catchment area-focused cancer research. Faculty and Community Champions enable equal dialogue between Massey investigators and the community to identify scientific priorities and needs most relevant to the populations served by the center. Community Champions also assist in developing recruitment plans, reviewing clinical trial protocols and providing guidance on research dissemination.

CEnR offers various support services for researchers and champions to enhance research collaborations. Services include:

  • Learning opportunities through one-on-one consultations
  • Creation of engagement plans
  • Planning of community-engaged activities
  • Reviewing materials
