The mission of the Molecular Pathology Research Services (MPRS) Laboratory is to provide high-quality, cost-effective Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) services in a CLIA’88-certified laboratory necessary for modern genomic analysis in a manner that supports and enhances research, education and administrative activities throughout Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The MPRS Laboratory specializes in providing NGS services for basic research, translational research and clinical trials. The MPRS Laboratory offers members of the VCU community the opportunity to incorporate the benefits of NGS services into their research projects.
The MPRS Laboratory is housed in the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory in the Department of Pathology at VCU. This state-of-the-art, CLIA-certified laboratory is fully equipped to provide high throughput NGS services. The MPRS Laboratory offers NGS services using the following suite of instrumentation: PGM and Proton instruments, automatic nucleic acid extraction robots, liquid handlers, etc.
